Lutz Announces 2023 Associate through Manager Promotions

Lutz, a Nebraska-based business solutions firm, recently announced multiple promotions to manager, senior, and associate roles.

MANAGER

Katie Blycker, CPA, has been promoted to Client Advisory Services Manager. She specializes in small business consulting, including financial statement reporting and management analysis, with a focus on the healthcare industry. In addition, she provides outsourced accounting assistance and software training and support. Blycker works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Jimmy Burgess, CPA, has been promoted to Client Advisory Services Manager in Lutz’s Omaha office. He specializes in small business consulting, outsourced accounting, and payroll and income tax compliance with a focus on the construction industry.

Katy Doyle has been promoted to Recruiting Manager in the Talent division. Her primary responsibility is placing candidates for Lutz Talent clients, as well as assisting with filling internal roles for Lutz. She specializes in search and staffing for accounting and finance positions. Doyle works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Zac Franklin has been promoted to Service Manager in the Tech division. He works directly with clients to address service issues and special requests. In addition, he assists the Lutz Tech Help Desk team in resolving technical disputes, provides training for new and current employees, and helps build and improve internal processes. Franklin works remotely.

Kelli Hesselgesser, CPA, has been promoted to Client Advisory Services Manager. She specializes in tax planning and consulting for businesses and individuals. In addition, she provides outsourced accounting assistance and collaborates with clients to prepare accurate financial data. Hesselgesser works in Lutz’s Grand Island office.

Pam Mathison has been promoted to Client Services Manager in the Financial division in Lutz’s Omaha office. She specializes in serving as a liaison between advisors, clients, and custodians through all aspects of the wealth management process. In addition, she oversees the training and development of the Lutz Financial operations staff.

Kris Rutz has been promoted to Network Operations Center Manager in the Tech division. He leads a team of engineers dedicated to onboarding new clients, monitoring systems, patching security vulnerabilities, ensuring business continuity, and maintaining the applications Lutz Tech uses to manage and secure its clients. Rutz works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Austin Sabaliauskas, CPA, has been promoted to Tax Manager. He is responsible for providing tax consulting and compliance services to clients with a focus on the construction and real estate industries. Sabaliauskas works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Callan Schultze has been promoted to Internal Accounting Manager in Lutz’s Omaha office. She manages internal accounting, payroll, and client billing. In addition, she oversees accounts payable and receivable for the firm.

Mike Tichenor, CPA, has been promoted to Audit Manager in Lutz’s Omaha office. He is responsible for providing assurance services to clients with a focus on the construction, agriculture, and manufacturing industries as well as employee benefit plans.

Austin Wells, CFP®, has been promoted to Retirement Plan Consultant & Investment Advisor in the Financial division. He specializes in consulting and investment management for Qualified Retirement Plans, including 401(k) and 403(b). In addition, he is responsible for providing investment advisory services, employee engagement, fiduciary guidance, and plan design and analyses. Wells works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

SENIOR

Katie Buckley has been promoted to Senior Financial Analyst in the M&A division in Lutz’s Omaha office. She specializes in providing merger and acquisition advisory services to clients with a focus on market research, deal marketing, due diligence, business valuation, and litigation support.  

Morgan Felber has been promoted to Senior Financial Analyst in the M&A division. She specializes in providing merger and acquisition advisory services to clients with a focus on due diligence, Quality of Earnings reports, market research, and deal marketing. Felber works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Kelsey Folkers, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department in Lutz’s Omaha office. She is responsible for preparing individual and business income tax returns for clients in various industries. In addition, she provides training and support for accounting interns.

Thomas Geiger, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the audit department. He is responsible for performing audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in a variety of industries. Geiger works in Lutz’s Grand Island office.

Kathryn Harrison, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the Client Advisory Services department. She specializes in outsourced accounting services, general accounting services, and financial statement preparation for clients. Harrison works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Brett Holtzen, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department in Lutz’s Lincoln office. He specializes in offering tax consulting and compliance services to clients with a focus on individual and business income tax returns for a variety of industries.

Sydney Holzworth has been promoted to Recruiting Specialist in the Human Resources department. She is responsible for coordinating campus recruiting initiatives as well as recruiting experienced hires. In addition, she assists with the management of Lutz’s internship program. Holzworth works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Alex Hower has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the healthcare department in Lutz’s Omaha office. He is responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and cost reports for healthcare clients. In addition, he provides general accounting support and enrollment assistance.

Alec Johnston has been promoted to Senior Financial Planner in the Financial division. He collaborates with advisors to provide detailed financial planning solutions and wealth management services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses. In addition, he helps monitor client portfolios and implements trade requests. Johnston works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Nate Maher has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department. He is responsible for preparing individual and business income tax returns for clients in various industries. In addition, he provides training and support for accounting interns. Maher works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Mitch McWilliams has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the audit department in Lutz’s Omaha office. He is responsible for providing credibility and assurance to clients through effective financial reporting, focusing on employee benefit plans and the construction and manufacturing industries.

Kaitlyn Oppliger has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the Client Advisory Services department. She provides outsourced accounting services to clients as well as software consulting and payroll tax return preparation. Oppliger works in Lutz’s Grand Island office.

Victor Salerno has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the audit department in Lutz’s Omaha office. He is responsible for providing credibility and assurance to clients through effective financial reporting, with a focus on the manufacturing and distribution and Sanitary Improvement District (SID) industries.

Tanner Stalsberg, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the audit department. She provides auditing and consulting services to a variety of clients with a focus on the Sanitary Improvement District (SID) industry. In addition, she plays a critical role in internal staff training and development. Stalsberg works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Jana Stone has been promoted to Senior Talent Sourcer in the Talent division in Lutz’s Omaha office. She is responsible for interviewing and placing candidates primarily in the accounting, finance, office administration, and human resources sectors.

Brad Stuthman has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department. He is responsible for preparing individual and business income tax returns and providing general accounting assistance to clients in a variety of industries. Stuthman works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

Claira Thede has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department. She is responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns and providing general accounting assistance to clients. Thede works remotely.

Ashley Tyler, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the Client Advisory Services department. She is responsible for providing outsourced accounting services and general accounting assistance to clients, including QuickBooks support and payroll compliance. Tyler works in Lutz’s Lincoln office.

Ansel Uerling, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the tax department in Lutz’s Lincoln office. He is responsible for providing tax consulting and compliance services to clients in a variety of industries.

Dallas Yates, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the Client Advisory Services department. He specializes in providing outsourced accounting services, QuickBooks support, and tax and payroll compliance to clients in various industries. Yates works in Lutz’s Omaha office.

ASSOCIATE

Chelsea Fisher has been promoted to Operations Associate. Chelsea works in Lutz’s Omaha office. She provides internal operations support to the tax department. Fisher facilitates the workflow and e-filing of tax returns for the Omaha and Lincoln offices.

Tonya Spilinek has been promoted to Administrative Lead. She will manage administrative functions and ensure consistency, timeliness, and accuracy on all client deliverables. Spilinek works in Lutz’s Grand Island office.

Regan Szatko has been promoted to Marketing Coordinator in Lutz’s Omaha office. She is responsible for strategizing and executing various marketing initiatives, with a focus on coordinating events, sponsorships, and memberships.

Rachel Wald has been promoted to Data Integrity Coordinator. She supports the firm’s marketing and business development teams. Additionally, she focuses on ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and integrity of client data. Wald works in Lutz’s Omaha office.
